This is part of what I do at work, that is fixing EPSON printers.
The main reason for a printer not functioning as it should is that it is not used often enough. Or the paper that is used is a cheap kind that leaves a lot of paper dust.
A good tip I give to our customers is:

• Use the printer at least once per month,
• Only use EPSON genuine inks (not 3rd party inks, the cheap ones)
• Use better paper, that doesn’t mean go for the most expensive paper, just don’t go for the cheapest.
